Vintage engagement rings are dear heirlooms that may be passed on to future generations. These are symbols of commitment of two people who promised each other to be together thru good times and bad. They’re considered ‘eternity’ rings to show the vows taken are forever.
They can either be authentic antique rings or rings that were designed to seem old, but they cannot look new or modern.
Victorian engagement rings
One of the most rare vintage engagement rings is the Victorian engagement ring. They were made of yellow gold or silver with diamonds, rubies or sapphires.
Edwardian engagement rings
These rings were made from platinum, instead of gold. Instead of diamonds, sapphires were used as the main gemstone.
Art Deco engagement rings
They were also set with diamonds and other colourful stones. Art Deco engagement rings existed between 1920 and 1930.
